How can physical therapy help?

There is no medication for scoliosis. The only treatment process is physical therapy or surgical treatment of the spine. The most common treatment for scoliosis is a soft brace which a patient wears around his back for 13 to 16 hours. The physical therapy treatment includes maintaining exercises such as yoga and stretching exercises which help to strengthen the muscle of the back and bring the spine back to the normal position from position. Schroth exercises are used by physical therapists which helps to improve posture and pain and to teach patients how to maintain their spinal position during their normal activities. These are specific sets of exercises that target the muscles of the leg and back and also maintain an upright position. The only possible treatment for scoliosis is an extensive physical therapy treatment or surgery but in most cases, if the physical therapy is done effectively then there is no need for surgery, and the patient is cured for a lifetime by this.
