DR. ZAKI AFZAL

DR. ZAKI AFZAL

PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, CERT DN, CSCS, USA-W

I was born in Pakistan but grew up in Canada. I went to college in Detroit and then Physical Therapy School at Touro University Nevada in Henderson. I completed an orthopedic residency at the University of Michigan and followed it with a fellowship at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for Sports Medicine. I started the practice in 2019 and have been helping the local Las Vegas Valley athletes and active adults ever since.

Integrity, honesty and commitment are the core values that drive almost every decision I make.

I am the owner so I run the company behind the scenes while still helping my athletes and active adults stay health and maintain their lifestyles. I want to help patients gain clarity on exactly what is going on and how to get it better. I also do not want patients to feel broken and instead feel empowered by how simple it can be to get better. I love treating shoulder, back/neck, knee and foot/ankle pain. I love the welcoming environment and everybody always striving to get better. It feels more like a gym than a clinic and everybody wants to to see you get better.

I love spending time with my wife and son, golfing, going to the movies, going on hikes, doing escape rooms and supporting my people however I can.

What is Zaki Watching, Reading, or Listening to?

  • Movies: Shanghai Noon, Rumble in the Bronx & Rush Hour. I’m a huge Jackie Chan fan

Zaki’s Client Testimonials

Dr. Zaki is amazing!! I was in a motorized vehicle accident while on vacation a couple years ago. The incident caused severe knee pain which made it difficult for me to live a normal life. I eventually had arthroscopic surgery to clear out scar tissue from the area. After surgery, I was told to find a physical therapist. I found one based on convenience of location near my house – which was a big mistake. The office I ended up at did not have one on one attention or concern with what was needed for my healing. After a few appointments, I finally discovered Dr. Zaki (I wish I went to him from the beginning). He is extremely thorough with his work, shows compassion towards his patients, and helps you understand why certain exercises or movements are important for improvement. Because of him I can go back to a normal lifestyle where I don’t walk with a limp and I can go up and down the stairs without any issue. Now I’m on track to start running again, which I haven’t been able to do in nearly two years!! Thank you, Dr. Zaki!!

Hands down, THE ABSOLUTE BEST PT in Vegas! After just 4 months, I went from chronic pain to PAIN FREE! It is worth every freaking single penny. Go for a free consultation or one appointment, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Thank me later. I never write reviews this long, but they literally changed my life.

After knee surgery (torn ACL), major sports injuries, and a car accident resulting in serious spinal problems, I had nearly given up hope. I was in pain nearly every second of every day, and it was seriously affecting my life…my career (dentist), and the pain prevented me from doing hobbies I love (sports, working out, hiking). I had spent the past 5 years seeing a variety of different sports medicine doctors, chiropractors, and PT’s. I am blown away at the progress I’ve made….after doctors and PT’s telling me I would NEVER be pain free again, and that neck surgery in my future was inevitable.

This is how physical therapy should be. Every appointment is fully 1 on 1 doctor time (you never see an assistant), so the therapy is highly focused and individualized. The entire hour is devoted to you. No 20 minutes of ice/ TENS at the end of appointments, no waiting around while they are seeing someone else. Just you and the doctor. You aren’t just going in and doing the same few exercises every week, every appointment is unique and problem focused. All the doctors are highly trained, going to additional training past their doctorate, and are incredibly knowledgeable. The therapy techniques they use are at cutting edge of PT research and highly evidence based.

The facility is outstanding and the staff cares for you deeply. Instead of treating the symptoms, they use their understanding of movement and biomechanics to diagnose the root of the problem and work to resolve it. For example, much of my knee pain, unintuitively, was caused by an extreme lack of foot mobility putting pressure on my knees. You need to stay committed to the exercises they give you for doing at home, but unlike other PT’s, the exercises are very manageable and usually take just a few minutes. You don’t have to have major problems to benefit either. If you want to optimize your performance or have minor nagging problems, go for one or two appointments and you’ll see major improvements.

Not only am I out of pain, I’m more athletic, better at basketball, and my movement feels so much better. I went from feeling like I was 50 to feeling like I’m 27 again. I literally recommend them to everyone I know with chronic pain or rehabbing injuries. Stop putting bandaids on your problems by seeing a chiropractor (short term relief, but doesn’t treat the root of the problem), or relying on pain meds or getting surgery. Thank you Dr. Zaki and everything you did for me and the people of our community.

I’m not typically one to leave a review, but in this case, it’s absolutely necessary! I’ve been seeing Zaki for physical therapy sessions every week for a few months now and things honestly couldn’t be going better and if you’ve got aches and pains and are looking for someone to fix that, Zaki is your man!

A little backstory:

My life is revolved around fitness. I lift 5-6 days a week, play sports 2-3 days a week and am the face of two major fitness companies that I film content for. With all that exercise, my body is constantly being put under physical stress and I deal with minor (and sometimes major) injuries all the time. I have tendonitis in my knees from growing up as a volleyball player, I herniated a disc in my low back summer of 2018, and I get minor sprains and pulls that happen constantly.

But since meeting Zaki, whom I now call “The Magician”, because he has a trick for everything… I now live pain-free, I play sports without worrying I won’t be able to walk for a few days after and if I strain something in the gym, I can be rest-assured that my next session with Zaki will get me on the fast-track to permanent recovery, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS!

I’ve worked with a number of PTs in the past and this man truly cares about his patients and you can tell with every session. I am 100% confident I will never have to find another PT again and have already recommended Zaki to a number of my colleagues, all of which love him as well.

If you need a PT, stop looking right now and call this dude. You can thank me later.
