In breast cancer cells of the breast start multiplying abnormally and develop into cancer cells which if remain untreated may spread in your whole body. Mostly it begins with milk ducts or maybe it starts from glandular tissue called lobules.

There are some of the factors which are more likely to cause breast cancer among those factors some are under our control while other is In our genetics or by nature. Some of the risk factors which can lead to cancer are

  • Inherited genes such as BRCA1 and BRCA2
  • Exposure to radiations

Symptoms

  • A lump in the breast or thick muscles that are different from normal muscles
  • Change in size shape and appearance
  • Dimpling in skin

Treatment

The most common treatment for cancer is surgical removal, chemotherapy, and radiology but after surgery, many changes in our body occur which are not normal and can affect our lifestyle adversely. These changes are controlled or manipulated by a physical therapist. Almost in all cases, post-surgical side effects appear and a person feels weakness in the upper limb and area near the chest. Physical therapists plan a set of exercises that help to deal with post-surgical problems after breast surgery. With the set of exercises, several manual therapies such as joint manipulation therapy joint mobilization techniques, and neurodynamic techniques are used.

Most of the time we think that only oncologists help us in fighting cancer but oncologists just help us to remove the cancerous tumor from our bodies. Other body weaknesses such as muscle weakness, lymph issues are not treated by an oncologist.
