Multiple sclerosis and physical therapy

It is an autoimmune disorder. In It, the body reacts against the beneficial component of the nervous system which is the myelin sheath. There are three benefits of the  myelin sheath

  • Conduction through this sheath requires less energy
  • Nerve impulses are conducted at a speed of 120 meters per second
  •  Other Neurons and not activated because of the  myelin sheath

Because of the destruction of the protective sheet, the signals are not transported properly from the  brain to body parts and from the  body to the brain and it can lead to slow functioning of the  body as well as permanent damage to nerves
